More Near Deere and Mop Flies...! #flyfishing #flytying

Happy Thanksgiving… Running out of Near Deere and Mop Flies… time to tie more.

Ended up tying Olive, Pink, and White Near Deere, two variants of the Mop Fly, and some John Deere.

All done… now just need to go fishing. Hoping sooner than later!

PS: Lots of rain has our fishing plans on hold but see an opening in the weather this weekend.

Enjoyed a morning walk on a “Non-Labor Day”… like to use this term for today since we are not working today. While on the walk, checked out a pond and its feeder creek for any fish. Did not see any fish in the pond but noticed a number of Bluegill and Bass lurking in the feeder creek. No fishing this round; did get a couple of videos and posted them below!   On a walk today. Kayak Fishing | Lake Lavon | Lavonia South Boat Ramp

Put in at Lake Lavon’s Lavonia South Ramp for some kayak fishing. Plan was to catch a few fish for a soup recipe – specifically, yellow bass as well as anything else that was legal size! Went with Nightcrawlers and caught a few, then caught a few more bottom bouncing slab and jig rigs! Do check back for the soup recipe and the next day’s trip kayak fishing Clear Lake Park on Lavon!
