Here is a quick tie of one of the three suggested fishing flies we like to have at the ready in our fly box when fishing for trout. Mixed up the video this time by adding background info, the recipe for the pattern, suggestions for fishing the GRHEN, along with the video of us tying one. This variant uses a bead head and pheasant tail instead of hares ear guard hairs for the the tail of the fishing fly. Do give it a try! Fished Waterloo Saturday. Met up with NucLaroche and had a go at the Rainbow Trout. Took some time but we limited out. NucLaroche opted for Super Dupers taking two on gold and three on silver. Fshng84 caught one on a White Near Deere and four on a Tandem Rigged Olive Near Deere and trailing Gold Ribbed Hares Ear Nymph (GRHEN). Of the Trout that went for the Tandem Rig, all went for the trailing GRHEN. The strike was light; had to pay close attention to any twitch in the line to set the hook. Fun stuff!
