Saturday Morning... Fishing Bethany Creek Pond #coaffieldteam

Image
Rain in the forecast today. Decided to fish Bethany Creek Pond before the rain clouds moved in. Pond was clear; could see the bottom as well as see a few Bass moving about. Polarized glasses were key at times, save for the Feeder Creek and Canal area where you could clearly see the Bass. Able to catch two Bass, no Bruisers but still fun… plus, did get some video of a couple of nice Bass in the Canal area.

COAF Field Team Vlog #8 "Bluegill, Bass, and a Snake... Gets a Fish!"

Image
This round decided to fish Bethany Creek Pond for Vlog #8.  Bite was steady with lots of Bluegill going for our fishing flies. Tried different ones but finally settled on a White Near Deere in size 10. Decided on white because it was easy to see in the water and watch fish strike it. Caught over 20 fish – mainly Bluegill but did get two bass! One was a little fingerling Bass; the other went about 13″. Had a fun time fishing… even had a little excitement when a water snake went for one of the Bluegill as we brought in. Did not get video of the snake going for the Bluegill but did get some action shots on the next cast when it went for the White Near Deere. Shortly after, a Bluegill took the fishing fly, and then the snake went for the Bluegill. Did get video of it!

Bethany Creek Park Pond Yesterday... Quick Clip Today!

Image
Fished Bethany Creek Park pond yesterday and caught a number of Bluegill using a Foam Grasshopper, and then later using an Orange/White Tenkara Fly. Went with the Four Weight and had a blast catching them. Today, went kayak fishing at Brockdale Park (Lake Lavon). Windy with waves to deal with but the action was fast paced initially when the White Bass were feeding on shad in the shallows. Lost count of how many were caught but did get five Keepers. Would have been six but lost one while putting it on the stringer. Got lots of video to edit but below is a short clip that gives an idea about today’s action! Fun stuff!

Slow Round This Time

Image
Fished the pond behind In-N-Out Burger.  Had lots of little taps on the Senko but no hook ups. Decided to try another place. Stopped at Auburn Springs and found out the pond is now a private pond. So, headed to Bethany Creek and fished it briefly but the “green stuff” was already clobbering the pond. Ended up at Bethany Lakes and caught two on Senkos, but, should have brought the fly rod. Evening hatch happened and the Bass started feeding on “flying bugs” landing on the water’s surface. Overall, slow round this time but still caught two!
