"Starting a Blog"

While online checking out various forums, noted a question posed on one forum that asked about starting a blog. Decided to answer the question with a few suggestions.

At the end of this post is a picture of the suggestions offered. In particular are the points noted in the recap.  Have listed the points below for Readers who may be interested in starting their own blog:

  • Start with Blogger; it’s free and simple to use.
  • Link Social Media to your Blog; use your Blog to provide more details/info to your Readers
  • Be sure to set your posts so a URL is created for each post; you can use it to create links elsewhere online
  • When the free option no longer supports your blogging requirements, upgrade to a hosted Blog and purchase your own domain
  • Be sure to archive your original blog and make it available to Readers after upgrading
  • PS: The online name will represent your blog for its entire “life”, pick a good one!

A report from Lake Lavon… looks like some fish. Perry: Re: Lavon dam I went down this morning .. People catching a couple sandbass, buffalo,and drum.. More info on Possum Kingdom! With the lake full and the flow good we caught almost trout till July this year up by the dam. Many had put on serious weight hope the lake stays full again this year. Rowlett Creek 2016 _update

Sounds like RC is still getting bit! Fisherman13: Re: Rowlett Creek 2016 Conditions looked great today.... low pressure and some passing clouds should have been a great morning at the creek. Here are a few pics of the ones I caught yesterday evening. Not very big but fun to catch on light line. Try some of those tiny flukes on 1/32 ounce jig head under a bobber about 4ft or so. Rowlett Creek 2016

Report from RC this past weekend. LakeForkGroupie: Re: Rowlett Creek 2016 Fishing was slow Sat morning. I had muddy water. I fished down by 66 bridge and noticed cars were coming and going, after hitting several spots, using several lures and colors, I found out why.. no fish. I left about the same time as others, they also blanked. Decided to head up to Firewheel and use the 4X4 truck in the mud. Finally found a few fish in the first pocket up the bridge, couldn't find them anywhere else. Ended up catching 12 small ones on tiny flukes dragged on the bottom. I have noticed the flood waters have moved around some underwater brush piles as I lost a lot of lures in new places. Also saw about 20 snakes. All water snakes. Great info on Texoma!!       texoma1231: Fly Fishing Texoma August 15 & 16th I fly fished lake Texoma the past two day and had a great time and caught plenty of fish. This past Tuesday I put in at Eisenhower State Park and was on the water by 6:30am. Headed west out of Eisenhower along the rocks and the sand bass and stripers were schooling on top in some of the largest schools that I have seen in a long time. The Sand bass were of good size but the stripers were of the smaller variety. We were using 6wt rods with floating line and charetruse/white clousers. Sometimes you would find larger sand bass and stripers mixed in with the average size. We caught fish all morning long and were off of the water at 11:00am. Kiyotaki 18 and Micro Fly Fishing

Headed out to Plano Saturday morning and fished the Davis Library Pond using the Kiyotaki 18 Rod and a Size 14 Gold Ribbed Hares Ear Nymph. Had a mix of little Bluegill/Sunfish with a several larger ones that took the fishing fly as well. Been a while since we fished with the light Tenkara-style rod. Almost forgot how simple it was to fish with minimal gear. Had a fun time… later went back out in the afternoon and had more fun Micro Fly Fishing. Still working on the video; will post soon as it’s done. Stay tuned, hoping the underwater video shots can be used!
