Ultralight Baitcaster | Rainy Day Bass Fishing at the Local Pond

When rain approaches, I decide to go fishing. After a ling dry spell of no rain, I go for a quick trip with the ultralight baitcaster for bait finesse fishing. In short order, it starts pouring. No worries, the bass were biting!

Kayak Fishing | Lake Lavon | Lavonia South Boat Ramp

Put in at Lake Lavon’s Lavonia South Ramp for some kayak fishing. Plan was to catch a few fish for a soup recipe – specifically, yellow bass as well as anything else that was legal size! Went with Nightcrawlers and caught a few, then caught a few more bottom bouncing slab and jig rigs! Do check back for the soup recipe and the next day’s trip kayak fishing Clear Lake Park on Lavon!

Only One This Time....

Short on time this morning. Got a round in though at Bethany Lakes. Saw a few folks hooking up with Trout; however, for this fisherman, it was three strikes of which two were missed, and one that did not… only one Rainbow Trout this time!

Another round at Bethany Lakes Sunday. Limited out using Gold Super Dupers and Gold Kastmasters. Then, did some catch and release fishing with the Switch Rod. Trout went for a Olive Near Deere, Guadalupana, and a Krystal Dub Minnow! Fish wanted a fast retrieve; did get a lot of missed strikes and trout nipping our lures/fishing flies!   Gold Kastmaster used today!

Was out fishing a local creek earlier this week. Caught a few Bluegill with the 2wt flyrod but was wanting for the tenkara rod as the creek was lined with brush and offered minimal access as well as casting room. Lots of roll casting and switch casting was the key. Unfortunately, lost the video… deleted it by accident. No worries, trip triggered your’s truly to search online for tenkara sales… and with luck, found Tenkara USA was offering a 30% discount on their rods. Nice! Noted the Iwana Tenkara Rod that we have been eyeing for several years was at our price point… $119 plus $14 for shipping. Order is in… now waiting for delivery.
