BFS Fishing | Bass on Ultralight Lures with the Kastking Zephyr

More BFS fishing with the Kastking Zephyr BFS Reel zip-tied to the Orvis Practicaster Fly Rod. Caught one Bass today had other strikes but ended up losing the suspending minnow to a snag.

Had to make the emergency run to Cabelas to stock up on ultralight lures. Picked up several lures but none matched the minnow we lost. If someone recognizes the lure, let us know in the comments. Will plan to buy more; really like it.

It’s two inches long, weighs 1/16oz, and suspends. It has a blue back, white undersides, with a trace of chartreuse on the side, and a prominent black dot on each side!

Happy "Non-Labor Day"

Enjoyed a morning walk on a “Non-Labor Day”… like to use this term for today since we are not working today. While on the walk, checked out a pond and its feeder creek for any fish. Did not see any fish in the pond but noticed a number of Bluegill and Bass lurking in the feeder creek. No fishing this round; did get a couple of videos and posted them below!   On a walk today. Old Bamboo Fly Rod Keeps Catching 👌 - Vintage Bamboo Fly Rod Series Round 3

Back out to the local pond fishing a Muddler Minnow using vintage gear - Southbend Bamboo Fly Rod and Shakespeare Fly Reel. Was a little slow at first but managed to catch several Bass and Bluegill. Water was clear, could sight cast to most of the time. Was frustrating at times as I could see fish look and then turn away from the Muddler Minnow. Overall, the series has been a fun one to do!

Saturday Switch Rod Practice at Bethany Lakes.... #switchrod

Decided to get a round of Switch Rod casting practice at Bethany Lakes this morning. Missed two Bass but did get two Bass. Lots of fun especially getting distance casts using the one-handed style we like. One Bass went for a Clouser Minnow; the other Bass went for an Olive Near Deere. The two Bass we missed went for the Clouser Minnow.
