Pond Fly Fishing - Bluegill and a Bass #bethanylakes #maxcatch #flyfishing

Last week made a quick pond fly fishing trip to Bethany Lakes. Used the MaxCatch 2wt fly rod but this time went with a 2wt WF fly line instead of the Rio Trout Max skagit head.

Fun time after finding the Bluegill that were lurking mid-pond. But, had to call it short when I lost the Foam Spider they were liking… did get a little Bass to hit a Near Deere though!

Put in at Lake Lavon’s Lavonia South Ramp for some kayak fishing. Plan was to catch a few fish for a soup recipe – specifically, yellow bass as well as anything else that was legal size! Went with Nightcrawlers and caught a few, then caught a few more bottom bouncing slab and jig rigs! Do check back for the soup recipe and the next day’s trip kayak fishing Clear Lake Park on Lavon!

Enjoyed a morning walk on a “Non-Labor Day”… like to use this term for today since we are not working today. While on the walk, checked out a pond and its feeder creek for any fish. Did not see any fish in the pond but noticed a number of Bluegill and Bass lurking in the feeder creek. No fishing this round; did get a couple of videos and posted them below!   On a walk today.
