Quick Post - Tips for Fishing for Stocked Trout in Ponds

Here is a post to answer a question posted on Facebook about fishing for stocked trout in ponds.

As a general rule, we like to use ultralight spinning gear lined with 4lbs or 6lbs mono when fishing with bait and lures.

For baits, we tend to Powerbait, PowerWorms, Corn, Salmon Eggs, and Cheese, and Bread. Always good to have the “bait buffet” ready as trout can get picky at times.

For lures, Copper, Silver, and Gold Super Dupers, Rooster Tails, and Mepps Inline Spinners are in our tackle box.

For fishing flies and when not using a fly rod, will use a bubble fly rig and fish Near Deere, Wooley Buggers, GRHEN, Prince Nymphs, and Griffiths Gnats. Have other flies at the ready but these tend to get used more often than not.
