Still Here... Quick Note #coaffieldteam

We are still here! Enjoyed a road trip to the Texas Coast last week with some side trips to places we liked along the way. Working the video still due stay tuned!

Also, did get a round of kayak fishing at Lake Lavon. Only caught one Catfish but did see others catching them on Jug Lines and Trot Lines!

No video but did salvage a few pictures. Lost the video when the data file became corrupted while transferring to a hard drive.

Laid back day of kayak fishing, grillin and chillin,… even saw horses at the boat ramp at Highland Park. More to come from last week; for now…. Good Luck and Good Fishing!

Red/White Tenkara Fly Did Well!

Liked the Olive/White Tenkara Fly; decided to try Red for the body and White for the Wing… end result is another simple but effective fishing fly pattern. Tested the pattern at Bethany Lakes this evening. Really windy day but did get enough casts to catch 12 fish this round  – two Bass and ten Bluegill! May need to tie more of these guys!

Kayak Fishing | Lake Lavon | Lavonia South Boat Ramp

Put in at Lake Lavon’s Lavonia South Ramp for some kayak fishing. Plan was to catch a few fish for a soup recipe – specifically, yellow bass as well as anything else that was legal size! Went with Nightcrawlers and caught a few, then caught a few more bottom bouncing slab and jig rigs! Do check back for the soup recipe and the next day’s trip kayak fishing Clear Lake Park on Lavon!

Another round at Bethany Lakes Sunday. Limited out using Gold Super Dupers and Gold Kastmasters. Then, did some catch and release fishing with the Switch Rod. Trout went for a Olive Near Deere, Guadalupana, and a Krystal Dub Minnow! Fish wanted a fast retrieve; did get a lot of missed strikes and trout nipping our lures/fishing flies!   Gold Kastmaster used today!

Short on time this morning. Got a round in though at Bethany Lakes. Saw a few folks hooking up with Trout; however, for this fisherman, it was three strikes of which two were missed, and one that did not… only one Rainbow Trout this time!
