Fly Tying This Evening... Mop Fly Variant #flytying

Tied a variant of the Mop Fly using Pink Ice Dub and a larger size hook. Used a smaller hook the first time and had some strikes but no hook ups. Closer look at the fishing fly was able to notice there was little room between the hook gap and the shaft. Built the dubbing portion too large for that hook.

This time, went to a size 8 streamer hook and made sure the gap was wide enough to ensure a decent hook set. Will see how it goes next chance we go trout fishing!
