COAF Guadalupana #flytying

While fishing in Frisco this past weekend, we met one of our Readers who asked about the Guadalupana fishing fly that we used while fishing the Guadalupe River several seasons ago. Has been awhile since we tied one but we do recall it was an effective fishing fly for us, working on the trout on the Guadalupe River, stocker trout in our local ponds, and Bass in the Spring and Summer months.

Having reminded us about the fishing fly, we decided to tie a couple. This round we used the dry fly hackle wrap instead of the palmer hackle wrap that we showed in our article, “COAF Guadalupana Fishing Fly”. Both work well in a given situation, but just in case, we like to have them both in our fly box!

Do give them a try when you get a chance!
