Fun Fishing on a Friday...!

Fished Bethany Lakes’ Lower Pond and caught a few Bluegill and little Bass. Then, fished the Back Pond by the Feeder Creek. Normally see a lot of activity after it rains as fish tend to lurk where the creek enters the back pond.

This round saw a number of fish, caught several but no Bruisers. Did see some nice ones lurking in the area. Was able to get video of some of them moving about. Do check out the video; we counted three possibly a fourth (may have been one we saw earlier) in the video!

More info on Possum Kingdom! With the lake full and the flow good we caught almost trout till July this year up by the dam. Many had put on serious weight hope the lake stays full again this year. Quick Tie - Sabiki Fly #coaffieldteam

Here is another quick tie fly tying demo but with a twist. This is a pattern that uses foil wrappers used for Bevita Cookies, Frito Lays Chips, etc. It’s a simple tie and is rigged sabiki style. We have used it using surf casting gear on our local lake for White Bass.We have also used it trolling with our fly rods while kayak fishing. Saturday Switch Rod Practice at Bethany Lakes.... #switchrod

Decided to get a round of Switch Rod casting practice at Bethany Lakes this morning. Missed two Bass but did get two Bass. Lots of fun especially getting distance casts using the one-handed style we like. One Bass went for a Clouser Minnow; the other Bass went for an Olive Near Deere. The two Bass we missed went for the Clouser Minnow. Limited out yesterday on trout at Bethany Lakes but struck out this morning.
