iFishRadio Q&A Beta Test on Spreaker

Update: Thanks for joining us today. Appreciate everyone bearing with us; good to know that the Chat feature requires additional steps for Listeners to chat with us. Going forward, we will plan to find other means for Listeners to send in their questions! Looks like the test failed. We were disconnected at some point and did not find out until after the show! The Team is regrouping; thanks for your patience!

Yesterday we tried interacting with our Readers using YouTube’s Live Stream feature. unfortunately, we had issues with our internet connection that precluded us from hosting a Q&A session.

Today, we would like to invite our Readers to join us at iFishRadio for a beta test of a Question and Answer (Q&A) Session where we make use of Spreaker’s Chat function available only on live broadcasts.

For planning purposes, we plan to host a live broadcast on iFishRadio at 8PM Central today. We are aware this is short notice and fully understand if Readers cannot make today’s Q&A Session. We will plan to host more in the near future.

For today’s Q&A Session, we can focus on the upcoming trout stockings in our area, and we would like to field questions that relate to fishing for stocked trout. We may not have all the answers but are certainly welcome to provide information based on what we have learned while fishing for stocked trout in the Lone Star State!

Appreciate your support, and for those that can join, see ya’ll at 8PM Central!

PS: We are limited to a 30″ Live Broadcast.

Another Quick Trip... Trout Fishing Towne Lake in McKinney

Really nice day! Still have video to edit but did limit out at Towne Lake in McKinney; caught but released five Rainbow Trout that went for an Olive Near Deere using the same setup as we used yesterday at Murphy – Corqs Strike Indicator and a Near Deere set 3 feet below it. Dead drift worked as well as a few short pull retrieves. Short on time but still a fun time… plus Charlie the Maltese Puppy got to see his first… hopefully many more to come, Rainbow Trout! Video still in the works; will post on our YouTube Channel when done. But, for tonight, we are chillin and grillin steaks and winding down this weekend!

Fishing Updates and Random Drawing - 12/21/18 Re-Broadcast

Re-broadcast of our Facebook Live Session where we provided quick updates on fishing in our area, and then the random drawing for the four fishing flies we tied. Same ones we used on the Blue River, Turner Falls Park, and locally at Bethany Lakes in Allen and Waterloo Park Pond in Denison, TX! Mardis Gras Near Deere Keeps Working

More fun catching Bass on the fly with the Mardis Gras Near Deere. Caught ten this time in just under an hour. But, had to call it quits early to go on a pizza run for dinner. No worries… still beats working! Playing the next few days by ear; will see what the change in weather brings. Pattern that worked for us yesterday and today was a fishing fly that simulated a small bait fish 1-1/2 to 2″ in length. If not fly fishing, would go with a small Road Runner of Crappie Jig on a steady retrieve using Ultralight Spinning Gear.

Bass and Bluegill This Round

Tested out a new fly pattern – no name for it yet. Caught a Bass and lost a Bass, then switched to damsel flies and caught Bass, Bluegill, and Sunfish.  Will tweak the new fly pattern more, and “test” it out again. Was good to see lots of fish near shore in their beds. Looked like the bigger Bluegill were further out from shore this year. Regardless, makes for some good fly casting practice for distance… Fun stuff!

Kayak Fishing : Texoma

Good to know!     hurricanecraig: Texoma Fished Texoma this morning from 6:30 until about noon. Water was 61 degrees. We launched at Eisenhower state park. I was trying to catch black bass but caught crappie and striper before I caught my first ever smallmouth before leaving. It was tiny. Bent Back Clouser Variant Worked!

Tested out a new pattern… a Bent Back Clouser Variant. This one uses a weighted keel instead of dumbbell eyes or bead chain, and the hook shank is bent back slightly. Worked well today at Sonic Pond! Tried it at Bethany Lakes, yesterday with some success. Today was much better. Used a larger hook and flashy chenille instead of flashy tinsel. Stay tuned for the fly tying demo on how to tie one!
