Slight delay in posting. Went on a cruise to the Gulf of Mexico. Have videos and pictures, but did not go fishing. Instead, tended toward doing activities like in the picture below… great stuff!
Short on time this morning. Got a round in though at Bethany Lakes. Saw a few folks hooking up with Trout; however, for this fisherman, it was three strikes of which two were missed, and one that did not… only one Rainbow Trout this time!
Put in at Lake Lavon’s Lavonia South Ramp for some kayak fishing. Plan was to catch a few fish for a soup recipe – specifically, yellow bass as well as anything else that was legal size! Went with Nightcrawlers and caught a few, then caught a few more bottom bouncing slab and jig rigs! Do check back for the soup recipe and the next day’s trip kayak fishing Clear Lake Park on Lavon!
Another round at Bethany Lakes Sunday. Limited out using Gold Super Dupers and Gold Kastmasters. Then, did some catch and release fishing with the Switch Rod. Trout went for a Olive Near Deere, Guadalupana, and a Krystal Dub Minnow! Fish wanted a fast retrieve; did get a lot of missed strikes and trout nipping our lures/fishing flies! Gold Kastmaster used today!
Having fun catching little fish with the Micro Fly Rod. Next step… taking the Micro Fishing Challenge to catch a fish that can fit on a US Quarter using a Micro Fly Pattern! Starting out with what we have on hand for the smallest hook – a size 22 dry fly hook. However, did place an order with TenkaraBum at TenkaraBum’s Store for micro fishing hooks in size 26 and size 30! Do check back and/or join us in trying to catch a fish on the fly that can fit on a Quarter! View this post on Instagram #microfishing #flyfishing challenge… catch a fish on #fishingfly that can fit on a quarter! starting with a size 22 hook but have an order in from #tenkarabum for size 26 and 30 hooks.
