Great one to keep handy…!

texasflycaster: FLY FISHING EVENTS 2018

I think I have all the events listed for Texas in 2018 - so far. Are there any more anyone knows about?

TroutFest 2018
February 16-18, 2018

Texas Freshwater Fisheries – Fly Fish Texas
February 24, 2018

Trinity River Water District – Flyfest 2018
March 10, 2018

Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Expo
March 10-11, 2018

Ladyfish 2018 Women's Fly Fishing Festival

March 24, 2018

I have the story with more information here - Texas Fly Fishing Events 2018 .I am putting together the tournament list - to publish separately - soon as well. Now that we've killed the word "conclave," maybe it's time to set our collective sites on the word "festival?"

keebranch: FWFF Fly Fish 101 - for trout at PK dam

Save the date- Fly Fish 101
On Saturday January 20 from 9:00 am – 12 noon, we will be hosting a free trout lab; that is, you will learn basics for leaders, tippets, and flies for catching trout which are stocked below the dam at Possum Kingdom near Graford Texas. You will not need rods or flies, but will need a valid Texas fishing license to participate.
On hand will be a few casting instructors to demonstrate the basics as well as some "fishing instructors" who will help you learn how to mend line in moving current , adjust flies for the best depth to catch fish, and help you learn the best way they know how to catch trout in the Brazos river.
Lunch will be provided up in the park near Brazos River authority HQ. and for those who wish to remain fishing will continue.
See map below
